My Netbook Reflection: Angel

Netbook Reflection

How has having a netbook connected to the internet helped my learning this year?

What special thing have you learnt from your teacher this year?
My Teacher Miss Paton has helped me by enabling the Adobe Flash Player to work for Maths Whizz. I have also learnt how to create a Flipping E - Book. Flipsnack is a website where you can create on-line digital E - Books. We first created a presentation and downloaded it as a PDF Document. Then you can create your Flipping E - Book. You can also change the colour, the theme and the layout. Miss Paton also introduced a different website called Fotor.com. It is a website where you can create your own collage. You can also change the colour, effects, the border and add some text.

What significant thing have you learnt all by yourself?
I have learnt how to copy and paste an embed code from Popplet, Wall wisher and other websites, and put in up on my blog to make it interactive.

What have you learnt from your friend this year?
I have learnt from my friend how to open a new tab using a short cut. I have also learnt from my friend how to insert a video from YouTube onto a Presentation I had created.

Room 5's Ethnicities: Angel

This is me and Fine's chart me created. Our topic was Room 5's Ethnicities. We asked everyone what their ethnicity was. In total there are 12 Maori students, 5 Samoan students, 4 Tongan students, 3 Thai students , 1 Afghan student, 1 Kiribati student, 1 Bermese student and 1 Chinese student in Room 5. The most popular Ethnicity is Maori. I believe that majority of Room 5 is Maori because the native language of New Zealand is Maori. I also believe that there are a low amount of Kiribati, Chinese, Afghan and Thai students because there might be a low amount of people their language in this area or they might have just arrived in the country from overseas.

Drama

Yesterday Room 5 went into Room 11 to do drama.  We were given some ways on how we use water. We had to act out of some of the ways water can be used such as drinthe toilet. We acted out certain objects from our walk to Tamaki River.  I Played the the trees, Fine played the bridge, Samantha played the pylon and Caitlin went underneath me and acted  as the boat.  When we first had a try at practicing what we were going to do. We had a little laugh and noticed that our time was running out. So we just put ourselves into place and froze. Our next activity was quite the same but we added our sounds

Touch Rugby: Angel

Today we were spilt up into groups. There were two girls team and two boys team. The girls played first. Samantha scored the first try for our first game. Then it was the boys turn to play. Mrs Eeles told us to listen to the boys mistakes and learn from it. It was the girls second game to play. Nobody scored any tries. Then again it was the boys time to play. Our team decided to go in a private spot and think of a plan. Samantha thought of pretending to pass the ball then running straight. Turns out our team scored another try. In the end the points were 2-0. We won our games. I really liked how Samantha and Caitlin worked together to score the last try.

Day 3 of The Holidays: Angel

Today I went to North Shore to buy me and my sister dresses for White Sunday. In the picture above is my dress that my mum picked out. In the purple box is my shoes. I didn't want to wear it at first because it was really girly, but then my mum told me that she had made the order all the way from Europe, so I decided to wear them. I also went to the park and saw Samantha, Oh S'Mar and his brother and San Tat and his brothers. We played on the park, then Samantha had to go. Then I went back home and ate some ice blocks. Then I decided to paint a picture to go on my Auntie's wall. Overall the whole day was AWESOME!

My Matinee Reflection: By Angel

MY MATINEE REFLECTION
Today my class performed their production item in front of our parents and Tamaki Primary. I think that we did well even though we went on the stage at the wrong time. We were really calm on stage and did not panic. Mr Johnston said that Halaiano did a superb job at speaking loud. I also think that Halaiano did a great job. Everyone backstage did an excellent job not talking. Even though it was raining outside we still made it on stage at the right time. We got dressed up in our costumes in Room Four. We waited for awhile before we went on stage. Miss Paton told some people to take the boxes to the hall. Patrick, Yvette Fine had to take Waka No. 2 onto the stage, Caitlin, and Samantha had to take Waka No. 1 onto the stage and Angel (me) had to take the oars. I think that I need to talk louder even though I have a microphone. I also think that Lavinia, Fine and Patrick need to have  louder voices. I think that our whole class needs to get off and on stage faster. We also think we need to get more people to get the wooden props off the stage so that we don’t have to get the backstage people getting them all by running back to get them again and again. Overall I think that Room Five did an excellent job.

My Outside Template Brochure: By Angel

My reflection on Room 5's Production Item By Angel

My reflection on our production item

What is the story line of your production item?
The first scene focuses on Rangi (Halaiano), Papa (Lavinia), Aoraki and his three brothers. Rangi decided to send his four sons to look at the new earth. The four brother sailed day and night in the canoe. The brothers saw no land. The skies turned grey and rain started to fall. Aoraki was flung onto one of the rocks. The canoe did not sink. The brothers scrambled on top of the canoe. The canoe turned into a long piece of land. The second scene focuses on the brothers growing old. The brothers grew old. Their hair turned from black to white and their bodies turned into great stone mountains. Aoraki was the highest mountains and his brother were smaller mountains. The third scene focuses on Aoraki’s friends being worried. When Aoraki did not return home his friends got worried. Tuterakiwhano (Patrick) had an idea. His friends sailed and sailed to look for Aoraki. The friends saw the broken canoe and the land. Aoraki is a Maori myth and legend.

Who are the actors and characters?
Aoraki -  (Latham), Rakiroa (Creedence), Rakirua (Cyprus), Rokiroa (Thomas), Rangi (Halaiano), Papa (Lavinia), Tuterakiwhano (Patrick), Hine Nui i te po (Fine), Mokopuna (Caitlin, Samantha, Oh S’mar and Jasmine), Mountains (Reon, Lani and Lorenzo), Trees (Harry & Jessie), Fish (Tim, San Tat, Jane and Jacob), Ducks (Raymond & Jason), Flowers (Zeba, June, Jharda’e, Linda and Ducati), Eel (John) and Narrator (Angel).

What role is Room 5 in the school production?
Room 5 is taking the role of Aoraki (The Southern Alps) Mountains.

What props need to be made/completed?
All the props are completed exept for Tu’s waka (which needs to be put together) Hine Nui i te po’s cape (which needs to dry) and Te Namu’s wing (which needs to dry).

How are you making the costumes and other props?
First Miss Paton draw an animal or prop onto a big piece of cardboard, then we paint the drawing and then cut it out.

Production Goals: Angel

Production Goals

How to move from an OK performance to a Very Good Performance Move from being ZERO to HERO

* Talk slower - EVERYONE
* Look at the audience when we are speaking and acting out our parts
* Use more expression
* Don’t get distracted by the people behind- Cyprus, Thomas, Patrick, Linda, Fine, Angel, Jharda’e, Samantha, Oh S’mar, Jasmine, Jason
* Know the timing off by heart
* Talk louder - Fine, Angel,
* Be confident don’t be shy
* When you hear your cue- act on it.
* Look not laugh when someone makes a mistake
Don’t giggle when someone is acting
* Bodies facing audience, but also looking at the actor beside you - include your audience
* Don’t get distracted when you’re back stage
* Use some actions when you’re talking
* Get ready back stage
* Spread out those who are flowers, mountains, fish,
* Don’t let your class down
* Put lots of effort into the class performance
* Take your role seriously
* Leave other people alone
* Concentrate on your part

* Try and make the performance real

When I am speaking, I need to say it out loud and use lots of expression. I need to concentrate on my part and not anyone else. I also need to put lots of effort into my part and not let the class down on the actual night.

My holiday story: Angel

Wow! What an incredible holiday for me, I do not know where to get start but here is one of my favourite things that I experienced, going to Rainbows End.

It was a cold winter day but the sun was still shining, my family and I went on a trip to Rainbows End. It was the most incredible theme park I had ever been to. We travelled there by car. When we arrived there we paid for all of the rides my mum and aunty paid $364.60. We then went inside and got our bands. I could see The Fear Fall, The Pirate Ship and the Scorpion Karts from where I was standing. I was so excited. My mum split us up into two groups.

My cousins, my older sister and I were a group, and my mum, my younger sister, my younger cousin and my aunty were a group. My first ride was the Pirate Ship. Then I went to the Scorpion Karts. I then went to my mum and went with them on the Bumper Boats. Then I went into the Kidz Kingdom where I saw my my nephew Angelo and I went on a ride with him.

Then I went on the Log flume with my aunt, It was pretty scary but it was still fun. My aunt bought the picture of me posing and her screaming. We then went on the big rollercoaster it was really fun, but really sore at the end of the ride because my head was bumping from side to side. Me and my aunt then went on the Invader and I was really dizzy at the end. I thought we were going to fall off but we didn't.

Then we went to go and buy some cotton candy. I then went with my family and ate some K.F.C. and there was some entertainment. I then went with my cousins to the bumper boats again and I got really wet. Then I went on my last ride of the day The Fear Fall which was really scary. Overall, I had a really exciting and fun day at Rainbows End.

My trip to bowling: Angel

Yesterday I went bowling with my cousins, sisters, my mum and my aunty. Things did not go as planned, so here is a short paragraph on what happened. My mum and aunty planned for us to go and play golf at JK's World of Golf. My mum, my two sisters and I went in one car and my cousins and my aunty went in another car. My mum, my two sisters went to go and buy some snacks before we went to the golf place. When we got there my cousins and my aunty were not even there yet, so we decided to give them a call and see where they were. But when we called them they were at another golf place. So when they at arrived at JK's World of Golf it started raining. We then went decided to go and play bowling. My mum and my aunty did not play because they had to get the food ready for us. My cousin won with a score of 81. I didn't play my best, but if I did I would of won.

My argument on Should P.B.S have a cafeteria: Angel

Should P.B.S have a school cafeteria?
I believe that Panmure Bridge should have a school cafeteria because it gives an opportunity for a person or student in the community a job.

Firstly, cafeterias can serve healthy foods including sandwiches, fruits, veggies and many more. Healthy foods can give your body and brain the energy to play sports and to get motivated in your learning. The healthy foods that are served in the cafeterias can help the students think straight in their learning. Cafeterias can serve much more healthy food then the shops where you buy pies and chips.

Secondly, It could give an opportunity to a person or a student in the community a job. It can help students count the up the money and learn how to give change back. They also learn how to learn how to serve food and make the foods.

Thirdly, it can save lots of money for parents. Some shops sell food that kids love and adore, but it might be too expensive. In a cafeteria it can save parents lots of money . Some parents might not have that much money to buy their child's lunch at the shops. Some cafeterias might sell foods that are really cheap.

Overall I think that Panmure Bridge School should have a cafeteria because the cafeteria can sell healthy foods, it can give an opportunity to a person or student in the community a job and it could save parents a lot of money. Those are my three reasons why Panmure Bridge School should have a cafeteria.

My floor plan: Angel

This is my floor plan on my ideal classroom. If our school were given lots of money to spend on a classroom, these are some things I would like to have. I think that we should have an art area because if your spill dye on the carpet it might not be easy to get it of, it could be easier if you had a lino floor covering. In the art room it has a sink and a  cupboard connected, so you can store some paint, dye and paintbrushes in it and you could also wash the paintbrushes in the sink.  I would like to have a teacher aid room because it might be a waste of time taking a group from your class all the way to the other side of the school to work. I also think that we should have a teacher aid room because if the teacher worked in a classroom with a group/student the class might be too noisy for you to concentrate in. In The teacher aid room has a table to put your work on and chairs to sit on. I think that we should have a reading room because it is a nice place to sit and relax and read a book. In the reading room it has some beanbags and a book shelf for books. Next to the computers I have put a couch and an aquarium with fish in it. Next to the interactive whiteboard is the net-book cupboard. The teachers desk is opposite the computers. The aquarium diagonally across to the exit door. I hope you all enjoyed reading about some new things I would like in our classroom.
